Ribal Al-Assad, Director of the ODFS, yesterday met with the UK’s former Foreign Secretaries, David Miliband MP and Sir Malcolm Rifkind MP in Parliament. Mr Rifkind is currently Chairman of the Intelligence and Security Committee, which examines the policy, administration and expenditure of the Security Service (MI5), Secret Intelligence Service (SIS / MI6), and the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ).

Also Ribal was invited to a session of the House Of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by Richard Ottaway MP, where the two former Foreign Secretaries gave evidence for the Committee’s inquiry into ‘The Role of the FCO in UK Government.’

Commenting on the meetings and attending the Committee’s evidence session, Ribal said:

It was a pleasure to attend the Foreign Affairs Committee’s evidence session, which gave me a fascinating insight into the work of the Committee and the role of the FCO in UK Government.”
