In the European Parliament, Mr Howitt is Vice Chair of the Human Rights Sub Committee, a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Human Rights, Common Security and Defence Policy and is the Labour European Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Commenting on the meeting, Ribal said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I was delighted and honoured to meet Richard Howitt. We had a comprehensive discussion about the urgent need to end the repression in Syria and bring peaceful transitional democratic reform.
