Ribal Al-Assad, Director of the ODFS, this week met once again with Mr Tunne Kelam MEP, Member of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He was a leading campaigner against communism and helped to lead Estonia to independence and freedom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They had a comprehensive discussion about ending the ongoing situation in Syria and the developments since their last meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting was a part of a series of meetings that Ribal had with senior members of the European Parliament from across the political spectrum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I was delighted to meet Mr. Kelam again, in our meeting I stressed the need for the E.U. to put it’s full weight behind a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Il est imp\u00e9ratif que l'UE, ainsi que la communaut\u00e9 internationale, s'unissent pour aider la Syrie \u00e0 se d\u00e9barrasser des islamistes qui ne partagent pas nos valeurs universelles et ne veulent pas de d\u00e9mocratie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Il est \u00e9vident depuis longtemps qu'ils cherchent seulement \u00e0 remplacer une dictature par une th\u00e9ocratie, leur objectif absolu est d'avoir un \u00c9tat califal islamique sous la loi de la charia et cela ne peut \u00eatre autoris\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ces extr\u00e9mistes ont appel\u00e9 au jihad contre quiconque ne partage pas leur id\u00e9ologie perverse et ont tu\u00e9 et commis de nombreux massacres contre des civils de toutes religions, confessions et ethnies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
L'UE et la communaut\u00e9 internationale ne doivent pas permettre que la Syrie \u2013 avec sa magnifique mosa\u00efque \u2013 soit victime de violences sectaires et de l'id\u00e9ologie pervertie des islamistes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Comme je l'ai dit \u00e0 maintes reprises, la seule fa\u00e7on d'instaurer une paix durable en Syrie est de poursuivre une solution pacifique et diplomatique qui inclut tous ceux qui croient sinc\u00e8rement en la libert\u00e9 et la d\u00e9mocratie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Il est imp\u00e9ratif que la communaut\u00e9 internationale, y compris l'UE, soutienne pleinement cet objectif.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
