Ribal Al-Assad appalled at indoctrination of Syrian children playing "behead the enemy"
Friday, 27 September 2013A video has emerged of Syrian children in the town of Ras al-Ayn playing "Behead the Enemy".
On viewing the footage, Ribal Al-Assad, Director of the ODFS has expressed his deep concern at the language and behaviour displayed:
"I am absolutely horrified to see Syrian children behaving in this way, no child should be acting out acts of execution and torture, it is utterly reprehensible.
These children are the future of Syria and form them to behave in this way should be of deep concern.
It is a clear case of indoctrination, where the glorification of violence by extremist factions has impacted on young impressionable children.
The video highlights the need for a swift and peaceful solution to the conflict and an end to the violence; no child should have to grow in an environment where brutality and bloodshed are seen to be acceptable and natural conditions."
