Ribal Al-Assad, Director of ODFS today welcomed news that a Russian/American convened peace conference is going to take place on the subject of Syria.

The conference aims to bring together all factions to debate and decide the future of the country, it is hoped that the conference will herald the first step towards a sustained peace for Syria.

Commenting on the news ODFS Director Ribal Al-Assad said:

“I very much welcome this development, for a long time I have called for an inclusive conference bringing in all the different factions together – only when all parties are given their say can a lasting peace be achieved”

“I hope that all sides will welcome this development and work with the convenors to bring about a positive and resolute outcome; the Syrian people strive for peace and I trust that this will now be forthcoming.”
