According to the Assyrian International News Agency (AINA), forces of the Free Syrian Army massacred the village on May 27.

“The armed rebels affiliated to the Free Syrian Army (FSA) raided the Christian-populated al-Duvair village in Reef (outskirts of) Homs near the border with Lebanon today and massacred all its civilian residents, including women and children.

Commenting on the news, ODFS Director, Ribal Al-Assad said:

“I am appalled by reports of the massacre committed by rebels in al-Duvair; these extremists are attempting to slaughter all those who do not share their perverted beliefs and the international community must investigate this as a matter of urgency.

The barbarians who committed this atrocity must be held to account for their heinous actions and we must do all we can to protect civilians from indiscriminate attacks. This is indeed a sad day for Syria and her people.”
